Situated a few kilometres from the Traditional Village of Pamah Kulat, it is only a 15-minute drive if you take the paved village road. Chekas Island got its name when a piece of land emerged from the middle of the river. The splitting of the river creates uniqueness for Chekas Island. On the right side of Chekas Island, you can find a rocky stream with a moderate current. On the left side, the current is calmer with fewer rocks
There are facilities like public toilets, changing rooms, a mini stage, camping and picnic grounds, and an area for other family activities. For children, there is a slide that ends in a man-made pool at the bottom. The pool gets its water supply from the river that has been dammed.
